BUFFON. Complete Works. Paris, F. D. Pillot, 1832–1833. 27 volumes in-8, 12.5 x 20.5 cm, contemporary binding in midnight blue Russian half-leather, smooth spines decorated with gilt fillets and motifs.
The metal-engraved illustrations comprise a portrait and 156 watercolour plates (except for the first four).
A well-bound copy in which the title pages have been systematically removed by the bookbinder, who has retained only the half-titles. Heavy foxing. Paper has been trimmed from the lower margin of a few leaves, without affecting the text.
