Natural History of Insects… Paris, Roret, 1828. 10 volumes in-18, 8.5 × 13 cm, contemporary binding in green half-shagreen, ribbed spine decorated with embossed panels and gilt motifs. Third, posthumous edition, completed by the author’s wife, Marie-Catherine Fontaine, and revised by Félix-Édouard Guérin-Méneville, of this 10-volume Roret handbook, characteristic of popular French entomology. Illustrated with 116 engraved plates (out of 117?), almost all of which are finely coloured. A fine copy, from the natural history library of Gilbert Dufaux (bookplate).
