GRASSET (Eugène). The Story of the Four Sons of Aymon. Paris, H. Launette, 1883.A quarto volume, in garnet-coloured shagreen, the front cover adorned with a gilt plate reproducing the title page, the spine decorated with gilt floral motifs, gilt head (bound by Ch. Magnier). The spine is slightly faded, the back cover is partially sun-faded, and there are scattered foxing spots.
The first book printed in colour using the new photogravure and chromography process invented by Charles Gillot, it is illustrated with 269 colour compositions and page borders by Eugène Grasset.
