LEFEBVRE (Eugène). *La Parodie de l’étranger*. Lyon: Édition du Tout-Lyon, 1913. A quarto volume, in brown half-shagreen, the front cover adorned with a large engraved and painted plate featuring a design of puppet masks, framed on the inside by five gilt lines, with printed silk endpapers and linings, gilt headband, untrimmed, covers and spine preserved (bound by H. Jacquet, Lyon). Minor scuffs. A luxurious edition lavishly illustrated with colour watercolour drawings and black intaglio engravings. Printed in a run of 62 copies; this is one of the 60 copies on Holland paper, signed by the author (no. 27). Accompanied by the subscription leaflet and a typewritten letter signed by E. Lefebvre detailing the circumstances of the book’s production A fine copy, particularly attractive in its binding decorated by H. Jacquet, whose painted plate featuring a motif of masks directly echoes the theatrical nature of the work.
