MOURLOT (Fernand). Memoirs and Portraits of Artists. Paris – New York, Alain A. C. Mazo, Léon Amiel, 1972. A quarto-sized volume in loose sheets, with a printed cover and the publisher’s unbleached canvas slipcase. The cover is yellowed with brown marks and creases, and shows signs of wear from the lithographs.
Preface by Jacques Prévert entitled ‘Le Cœur à l’ouvrage’. 25 original lithographs, including 19 in colour and one spread across two pages, by Brianchon, Masson, Baudin, Fenosa, Esteve, Matisse, Guiramand, Terechkovitch, Braque, Derain, Picasso, Jenkins, Miró, Cocteau, Minaux, Villon, Chagall, Giacometti, Buffet, Wunderlich, Delvaux, Vasarely, Manessier, Lapicque, and Sutherland.
