BARTHELEMY (A.M.). NEMESIS. Weekly satire by Barthélémy. Paris, Perrotin, 1832. In-4° of [2]-420 pages plus 8 pp. (figs. 1-8), between pages 128 and 129, half blond calf (contemporary binding). A new edition of the first edition, announced by the publisher, for which he made only one title. The entire text is set in a double frame. The work appeared in 52 issues (actually 53) and includes the specimen prospectus, published from 27 March to 1 April 1832. This copy conforms to the Escoffier sale (n°904 of the 1934 catalogue "le Mouvement romantique") and is enriched with a 6-PAGE AUTOGRAPHIC MANUSCRIT BY LAMARTINE of 14 stanzas of 8 verses (unpublished?) relating to the 16th issue of Némésis where he is castigated by the author for his candidacy for deputation. Some foxing, otherwise a good copy.
