In-8, ruby morocco, 1st plate decorated with a frame of black fillets with 4 palmettes in black and coffee morocco, second plate decorated with a rosette of the same palmettes, spine ribbed and decorated in the same way, inner frame decorated with a frieze of gilt triangles, gilt head, illustrated cover and spine (Albert Guétant, Lyon).
Beautiful publication decorated with numerous typographical ornaments in colour and 21 etchings by Rochegrosse engraved by Decisy, including the frontispiece and 18 hors-texte. One of 200 NUMEROTES ON IMPERIAL JAPON containing 2 states of the etchings, including the state with remarks and the separate suite of black woodcuts on China paper. A very fine copy in an attractive Art Deco binding signed by Albert Guetant, a bookbinder from Lyon.
