Georges DESVALLIÉRES (1851–1950), French painter. Set of two autograph pieces, signed:
- Postcard, with the printed address 14 rue Saint-Marc, undated. ‘Dear Sir, I currently have at home an important painting which I intend to submit to the Salon and a large portrait for the ‘Pastellistes’, on which I would be very pleased to have your opinion [...] He invites the addressee to visit his studio sometime this week.
- Letter dated 16 February 1907, on mourning paper bearing the same printed address. One page and two lines, in-12 format (slight crease marks where folded into quarters).
Addressed to [Charles Masson, organiser of a Eugène Carrière exhibition in 1907]: ‘Dear Sir, It is, of course, with great pleasure that I accept an invitation to join a Carrière Committee. I did indeed love the man very deeply, just as I continue to hold the artist in the highest regard.”
