Description
Maurice LELOIR (1853–1940), French painter and illustrator. Autograph signed letter-card, addressed to his friend, the novelist and bibliophile Jérôme Doucet (1865–1957). [Clamart, 27 December 1904 (postmark)]. One in-12 page, with the address handwritten on the reverse (the recipient’s name crossed out; Doucet’s name is also crossed out in the letter).
He notes that ‘Suzanne has not yet sent you her letter to thank you [...] not only for the book but for the such kind and thoughtful gesture that makes it a unique copy [...]’. In a postscript, he asks whether he should contact Braun to request the photograph he has not received and mentions an issue regarding reproduction rights.
