GRAND-CARTERET, John (1850–1927). ‘Old Papers, Old Pictures, and Sketches from a Collector’s Collection’. Paris: Le Vasseur, 1896. Green half-leather binding, decorated spine, hinge on the front cover slightly worn, gilt title, cover intact. Numerous black-and-white illustrations and a few colour plates. A fine engraved bookplate marked ‘DD’, with the motto ‘Bien ou pas et Paris 1834–1934?’. 543 pages, 29 x 20 cm. Included is an article from *Paris-Soir* dated 1927: ‘A man of letters passes away: John Grand-Carteret, a long-time resident of Paris, has just died’.
