Contemporary red half-shagreen with corners, double gilt fillet on the covers, ribbed spine, title and initials in gold (slight rubbing to the binding, including the upper joint with minor scuffing to the corners or edges, a small corner loss on the second title page and a few page edges slightly browned, but the interior remains fresh).

A two-part volume bringing together the catalogues of the two auctions, which took place in June 1896, of the exceptional collection of Viscount Auguste Dreyfus de Gonzales (1827–1897), a great Franco-Peruvian collector and connoisseur of masterpieces.
