VERLAINE, Paul. TREMOIS. Parallèlement. Paris, Les Bibliophiles de l’Automobile-Club de France, 1969. 2 oblong in-4 volumes, loose-leaf, with titled covers with flaps, in a cardboard slipcase with gilt title and the publisher’s khaki cloth-covered case (very slight soiling on the slipcase and case, stains on the menu, otherwise a very fine copy). Parallèlement. LXXVI pp., 2 blank double-sheets, a signed plate and a menu. Femmes et Hombres. XXVI pp., 3 plates (with a note opposite), 1 blank double-sheet. A collection of 30 poems by Paul Verlaine, 12 of which were banned. Illustrated with 28 original engravings by Pierre-Yves Trémois, printed on the hand-operated presses at the Atelier Rigal. Limited edition of 150 copies, 130 of which are on Arches vellum with a Trémois watermark, numbered in Roman numerals and printed in the names of the members of the society. This copy, no. CXIII, was printed for Maurice Schlogel. The eleventh volume published by the Compagnie des Bibliophiles of the Automobile Club de France. Enriched copy: - the menu from the Society’s dinner on 22 December 1969, with a dedication from Trémois to Schlogel, accompanied by a sketch and a portrait signed by the artist. - A portrait of Verlaine, etched and highlighted with gouache, signed and dated 1969 by Trémois, for the illustration in *Parallèlement*.
