THEOPHYLACTE. [In Greek]. Enarrationes in quatuor evangelia. Rome, Antonio Blado, 1542. In-folio, grained calf, triple cold fillet, spine decorated, red speckled edges (17th century binding). Commentary on the Gospels by Theophylact of Bulgaria, archbishop and theologian who lived in the second half of the 11th century. Beautiful edition printed in Greek script, the first of this work according to Brunet. Early manuscript bookplate faded at bottom of title. Light staining at the top of the quires, throughout the volume, having slightly weakened the paper of the title page and the following leaves. One spine open, corners worn and missing.
