Jacques Prévert
French poet, screenwriter, dialogue writer and lyricist, renowned for his wordplay, the popular appeal of his poems and his numerous collaborations with leading filmmakers.
In particular, he wrote the screenplay and dialogue for the film *Les Enfants du paradis*, directed by Marcel Carné, a masterpiece of poetic realism that has become a major work of French cinema.
Prévert also collaborated with Paul Grimault on *Le Roi et l’Oiseau*, a French animated film, the first version of which was released in 1953. These two works demonstrate the diversity of his talent and the significance of his writing in the history of French cinema.
