The author states that on 2 April he received a letter from the Tsar concerning the uniforms and money intended for a battalion arriving in Saint Petersburg. He asks the Tsar to grant him, as an inheritance, his uncle’s villages—which his grandfather had received for his services—so that he might not lose them.
