Description
VOÏTSEKHOVSKI S.L. (1900–1984) Trest. Vospominaniya i dokumenty [The Trust. Memoirs and Documents]. London (Ontario): Zaria, 1974. 193 pp., [7] plates; 23 x 15 cm. In the publisher’s softback cover. Very good condition. Slight scuffing to the cover. ‘The history of the military organisation created and led by General A.P. Koutepov consists of two parts. The first, from 1922 to early April 1927, was the attempt by Koutepov’s supporters to enter Russia and establish a foothold there in order to actively combat the Communist dictatorship that had enslaved their homeland, and the counter-response to this attempt by the Chekists and their instrument, the so-called Trust. The second, from July 1927 to the abduction of A.P. Koutepov in Paris on 26 January 1930, was marked by several successful military operations on Russian territory and by the deaths of most of those involved...’ (extract from the author’s preface). Sergei Lvovich Voitsekhovsky (1900–1984), publicist and leading figure of the White émigré movement. The book brings together memoirs, documents and testimonies from those involved in events linked, on the one hand, to General Koutepov’s armed struggle against the Bolsheviks and, on the other, to the activities of the ‘Trust’, a provocative organisation known as the ‘Monarchist Union of Russia’. The Trust’s activities led to the deaths of numerous White Russian officers, including Generals Miller and Koutepov. First edition.
