Description
GOSPLAN LITERATURY [THE GOSPLAN OF LITERATURE] Sbornik Literaturnogo tsentra konstruktivistov (LTsK) [Anthology of the Constructivists’ Literary Centre]; edited by Korneli Zelinski and Ilia Selvinski. Moscow; Leningrad: Krug, [1925]. 144 pp.; 21.5 x 16.5 cm. Print run of 3,000 copies. ‘The book’s construction by its authors’. Constructivist publisher’s cover designed by N. Koupreïanov. Cover reproduced (in ink), a faithful copy of the publisher’s original. Good condition. Book block slightly trimmed, slight soiling, scuffing to the edges of the spine, a few pages repaired with fine paper without affecting the text, traces of glue along the spine on the inside back cover. Ownership inscription on the title page. The collection brings together texts by K. Zelinski, I. Selvinski, B. Agapov, V. Inber, D. Toumanny and I. Axionov, who formed the core of Constructivist poetry in the mid-1920s. The Constructivist Literary Centre (LTsK), a Soviet literary (primarily poetic) group, was founded by I. Selvinski, K. Zelinski and A.N. Chicherin in 1924, building on the movement of the same name that had emerged in early 1922. It disbanded in December 1930. It was one of the most brilliant and short-lived avant-garde groups. At the buyer’s request, we shall be happy to provide a general report on the condition of the lot described above.
