Zelenine Paris 81’. Edouard Leonidovich Zelenine (1938–2002), a Russian and French avant-garde and non-conformist painter, representative of the first wave of the second Russian avant-garde. 2) OLEG TSELKOV. Saint Petersburg: Palace Editions, 2004. 144 pp.: ill.; 31 x 25 cm. (Almanac. Fasc. 73). Publisher’s illustrated binding and illustrated dust jacket. Very good condition. Slight scuffing. Published to mark two exhibitions by Oleg Tselkov (1934–2021), at the Russian Museum and the Tretyakov Gallery. Tselkov is one of the leading figures of Russian non-conformism in the second half of the 20th century; his style is often likened to Surrealism. The book brings together essays on the artist’s approach, a short autobiography, a portfolio of colour plates, a list of museums and collections holding his works, details of his solo and group exhibitions, as well as catalogues, books and programmes devoted to him. At the buyer’s request, we shall be happy to provide a general report on the condition of the lot described above. However, as we are not professional conservators or restorers, we strongly advise potential buyers to carry out their own inspection or to consult a specialist of their choice to obtain a full assessment of the lot’s condition. Descriptions of items provided in the catalogue or by correspondence are for information purposes only and should not be regarded as a definitive assessment. NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSION CONCERNING A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD ‘AS IS’, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE PUBLISHED IN THE CATALOGUE.
