Important set of Tuareg jewellery
Sub-Sahara, Niger, 19th-20th century
In silver or silver-plated metal, chased, nielloed or openworked in their leather frame, comprising, in the first case, an important key of sails, "Asru N'swul". In the second, a pair of "ahbeg" or "tekafat" bracelets, a beaded necklace from the Azawagh region, a pair of articulated earrings, an openwork pendant and a four-tiered "tshérot" amulet pendant. In the third, four beaded necklaces, including a "shatshat", two "takaza" from the Laya region, and a "takaza tan tsabit" ring necklace, and three Tuareg crosses. In the fourth, three necklaces from the Tahoua region, one with five ancient crosses, the others with four.
