Rare proof of the 5 pound note of the Banque de Syrie et du Liban Lebanon Republic (1926-1945) Set of two single-sided proofs of the Banque de Syrie et du Liban 1933 5 Livres banknote, by engraver Louis-Joseph Soulas and designer Jean Demarcq, with signatures. Presented in a brushed copper frame Size: 34.5 x 38.5 cm Tickets: 10.5 x 17.5 cm on view Condition : UNC Provenance : Acquired from the family of engraver Mr Louis-Joseph Soulas (1905 - 1954), who also created the frame. We would like to thank expert Anthony Camos for his contribution. A pair of single-sided proofs of the 5-livre banknote of the Banque de Syrie et du Liban, 1933, engraved by Louis-Joseph Soulas after a design by Jean Demarcq, signed by the engraver. Presented in a brushed copper frame designed by Soulas himself. UNC condition. Frame: 34.5 x 38.5 cm (13.6 x 15.2 in.); banknotes (sight): 10.5 x 17.5 cm (4.1 x 6.9 in.). Lebanon, French Mandate.
