Opaque polychrome pigments on paper, mounted on an album page. A young woman, her body partially draped, her face oval with idealised features, adorned with jewels, seated in an interior. The background opens onto a lakeside landscape punctuated by architecture, visible through a bay framed by coloured curtains. The wide margins, decorated with floral motifs enhanced with gold, are from the prolific 16th century centres of Herat and Qazvin.
