Didisheim-Goldschmidt, Fils & Co (Switzerland) "The Enchanted Timbale". A musical dressing table clock in gilded metal, shaped like a drum or half-sphere, resting on a basin. The drum is encircled by an openwork frieze of foliage. Tripod base, with a ‘crossed’ foot design imitating bamboo. Circular enamelled dial featuring black Arabic numerals and a railway-style minute track; the hands are intricately openwork The centre of the dial is painted, depicting three putti surrounded by fruit. Markings: ‘Didisheim-Goldschmidt Fils & Co. Swiss, Fab. Suisse Metal Dore’ (on the base and the dial). Hallmarked bowl. Probably made around 1930. Total height: 9 cm. Max. width (base): 8 cm.
