Note: A pupil of Yves Klein, Zloty is regarded as one of the pioneers of urban art alongside Ernest Pignon-Ernest. His first works appeared on the walls of Paris in 1963. Eight of his works are now held in the permanent collections of the Centre Georges Pompidou Beaubourg. Created in 1977, a pivotal year for the artist marked by the ‘Effacements’ exhibition at the Galerie Charley Chevalier, this painting is emblematic of this period, which is particularly sought after by collectors.
