GERMANY. OLDENBURG. Rare spiked helmet, Model 1867/94, from the 19th Oldenburg Dragoon Regiment, with a patent-leather crown, square visor and nickel-silver fittings, front plate bearing the Prussian Dragoons’ distinctive eagle, with the Duchy’s coat of arms in the centre in brass and nickel silver, detachable spire with a ‘Perlring’ on a cross-shaped base, rear band with two fixing studs, chinstrap with domed scales in gilded brass, Reich and Duchy cockades, blackened leather inner cap with its lace, neck strap stamped ‘O.D.R. 19’ dated 1907 and ‘BAX, 1906’, not re-punched. Formerly in the collection of Jean-Louis Larcade, auctioned by Maîtres Métayer-Mermoz, Nevers, 28 January 2023, lot 20. Very good condition. From the collection of Master Luc Girard.
