Infantry Officer’s Sabre, Model 1821, marked ‘Manufacture royale de Chatellerault, August 1854’
Brass mount with a two-pronged guard, a domed, buttoned pommel with a short tail, edged with a frieze of laurel leaves. The tang is covered with filigree-patterned lizard skin. Curved blade with a hollow edge and flat back. Leather scabbard with two belt loops.
