1886-model kepi with scarf, worn by a Commander of the 8th Infantry Regiment.
The cap and turban are made of fine scarlet woollen cloth, with a black headband. The cap is adorned with a double-strand Hungarian bow. The rank braids are silver. The number ‘8’ is applied to the front of the cap. The visor is made of black patent leather and edged with a black leather band; the underside is lined with black waxed leather. The false chin strap is made of flat silver-coloured braided cord, fastened by two small metal buttons stamped with the image of a flaming grenade. The inner cap is made of silk and black leather.
