Description
Alsace-Lorraine, set of two firemen’s helmets. Brass helmets with crest. The first bears the letters EL for Elsass-Lothringen, a leather chin strap secured internally by rosettes, and a post-war French-style liner. The second bears the letters UG, possibly standing for a municipality whose name begins with U or for ‘Untere Gruppe’, a reserve fire brigade unit in a large city, though this is not certain. It has a scalloped chinstrap secured by rosettes and a leather liner with wolf’s-tooth edging. Good condition, signs of wear and patina. Alsace-Lorraine, set of two firefighter helmets.
