Description
France, Jasney firefighter’s helmet, c. 1852. Model 1830 helmet modified in 1852 by the removal of the movable visor and the addition of a ‘Presidence’-type plate, with a band marked ‘JASNEY’, in Haute-Saône. The plate is held in place by wires added at a later date. Made of brass, with a crest, plume holder and faux scale-patterned chin straps. Fabric liner with a leather headband. Good condition, with wear and patina. France, firefighter’s helmet from Jasney, circa 1852.
