German axe pick with its leather sheath. German Beilpick with its original handle. The blade bears the regimental mark 6.R.F.B.10.C.2. The use of ‘FB’ for Fusilier Battalion indicates that it was manufactured before 1914. A fine brown leather harness in good condition. Complete with straps and loops. The brass button indicates that it was manufactured before 1916. A Roman numeral VIII is visible on the grain side of the leather. In good condition, showing signs of wear and patina.
