Description
Württemberg spiked helmet with impact marks. A spectacular helmet from the Württemberg JR180 regiment, bearing the scars of battle. M1895 helmet, in pristine condition; only the Landcocarde has a less pronounced patina. The helmet has sustained two frontal impacts: one pierced the cup, whilst the other shattered the spire, but all the pieces are present. In 1914, the 180th Württemberg Infantry Regiment fought in the Vosges, Nancy-Epinal and the Somme. Heavily weathered. Battle-damaged Württemberg pickelhaube. Striking, untouched M1895 helmet of the 180th Württemberg Infantry Regiment bearing combat damage. Only the state cockade shows less patina. Two frontal impacts, one penetrating the skull and the other shattering the spike; all fragments are still present. In 1914, the regiment fought in the Vosges, Nancy-Épinal and the Somme. Heavy patina.
