A genuine pair of German stretcher-bearer ersatz satchels. A superb and authentic pair of stretcher-bearer satchels, marked ‘K’ for ‘Krankentrager’. Made from ersatz materials – braided and coated – in brown, with brown leather straps and hinges; the manufacturer’s mark on a belt loop on each bag reads ‘KARL BARTH WALDBR…L 1917; the letters L or R (for left and right) are marked on the tabs of the rings. Under the lids, the contents labels are present and in good condition. The ersatz extraction straps are present on the left satchel, but not on the right. Satchels are empty. A rare and high-quality set. Genuine pair of German ersatz stretcher-bearer’s satchels. Outstanding genuine pair of stretcher-bearer’s satchels marked K for Krankenträger. Brown woven and coated ersatz material with brown leather straps and hinges. Each belt loop is stamped ‘KARL BARTH WALDBR L 1917’. Ring tabs marked ‘L’ and ‘R’ for left and right.
