Description
An intriguing pair of Pattern 14 cartridge belts made from Web-woven cotton. A genuine pair of cartridge belts that conform in every respect to the construction of Pattern 14 cartridge belts, but made entirely from Web-woven cotton canvas. The buckles for attaching to the harness are wider and more substantial. A makeshift model, a trial version, an Indian Army variant, an export model… all possibilities are open. Good condition, with a few snags. An unusual pair of Pattern 1914 ammunition pouches made from woven cotton webbing. A genuine matching pair constructed exactly like Pattern 1914 leather ammunition pouches but made entirely of woven cotton webbing. The harness attachment buckles are wider and heavier. Possibly an improvised pattern, trial version, Indian Army variant or export model. Its precise origin remains uncertain. Good condition with a few snags.
