An interesting case clad in black patent leather, containing, mounted in the English style, an interesting 7 mm calibre pepper pot pistol with a Deprez-type pin, constructed entirely of bronze (except for the hammer, trigger and spring), the whole is decorated with a floral engraving; the six-chamber barrel is rifled; double-action operation (hammer without a crest); folding trigger; the piece bears no markings or hallmarks; the breech plate tilts downwards, held firmly in place by a spring; pear-shaped stock, nickel silver grips, a bronze pin-head screw fixed in place of the cap ring, and a fully functional mechanism. The case is lined with sun-faded burgundy velvet and features two compartments containing a few original pin-type cartridges.
