Description
TEMPLIER. Openwork platinum navette pendant set with a geometric pavement of old-cut diamonds alternating with falling roses, 750°/°° (18 K) white gold and platinum chain. Dog-head hallmark, trace of illegible goldsmith's hallmark on the hoop. Unsigned. Circa 1920. In a jewellery box signed "Paul Templier et fils. Joailliers fabricants. 3, place des Victoires. Paris". Length: 7 cm. Gross weight: 14.5 g. Expert: M.M. The Templier firm was founded in Paris by Charles in 1849. His son Paul succeeded him in 1885 and became an important figure in jewellery, being one of the first to use platinum. His son Raymond joined the family business and, with his modernist approach, was one of the key figures of the Art Deco period from 1925 onwards.
