Description
Willem van Hooff Core Vessel Tall I Chocolate Vase Hand-moulded, glazed by the artist, double-fired One-off piece H60 W30 cm Water-resistant The Core Vessel series reduces the vase to its essence: a solid, smooth, almost geological form, from which the opening appears to emerge through erosion rather than by turning. In this tall version, the most slender in the series, the sixty-centimetre vertical silhouette asserts itself as a piece of domestic sculpture. The deep, slightly satiny chocolate-coloured glaze is crafted by the artist himself, giving each piece a unique surface. A one-of-a-kind piece in the tradition of contemporary ceramics that emphasises mass, colour and the artist’s touch.
