Description
Willem Van Hooff Core Vessel Oval Vase Hand-moulded, artist’s glaze, double-fired One-off piece H46 L40 cm Water-resistant An oval variation on the Core Vessel series, this vase expands its volume in width and features a more horizontal base, almost like that of a pebble. The hand-crafted outline retains slight irregularities that play with the light on the glazed surface. The principle of the series remains clear: a solid, compact mass, with an opening that appears to have been carved out of the material. A unique piece, it forms part of contemporary ceramics that focuses on the visual weight of forms, halfway between a functional object and a small sculpture.
