Description
Willem Van Hooff Core Vessel Thick Oval I Brown Vase Hand-moulded ceramic, artist’s glaze, double-fired One-off piece H41 L48 cm (base 10 cm) Water-resistant In this ‘thick’ version, the walls are denser and the form widens above a base reduced to ten centimetres. This contrast between a narrow foot and a broad body gives the vase a distinctive tension, as if in balance. The brown glaze, with its earthy tones, reinforces the connection with the mineral forms that run through the entire Core Vessel series. A unique piece, generously proportioned, which illustrates the contemporary ceramic art movement’s focus on mass and surface rather than decoration.
