Description
Simone Negri Accadimento #191 Porcelain stoneware and black glaze 2025 H13 W92 D38 cm Under the title Accadimento (‘event’, ‘what happens’), the Italian ceramicist Simone Negri has been developing a numbered series for several years in which the form arises from a single gesture applied to the material: folding, tearing, sagging. At ninety-two centimetres long, No. 191 ranks among the most ambitious horizontal formats in the series. The black glaze absorbs the light and emphasises every irregularity on the surface, revealing the tension between the rigour of the porcelain stoneware and the freedom of the creative process. A work that engages with the legacy of Arte Povera and Italian informal ceramics.
