Description
Charlotte Perriand (1903–1999) Pair of stools Pine 1968 H42 W44 D30 cm From Les Arcs, Savoie From 1967 onwards, Charlotte Perriand worked with the Atelier d’architecture en montagne to design the architecture and layout of the Les Arcs ski resort, with Arc 1600 opening in 1968. Here she put into practice her belief in minimalist, rational and welcoming design, inspired by her stays in Japan and her love of alpine living. These pine stools, taken from the resort’s accommodation, are a direct expression of this philosophy: sturdy, easy-to-move pieces of furniture, designed for compact spaces.
