Description
Guido de Zan Paesaggio Semi-abstract sculpture Stoneware Date of creation: circa 2020 H11 W24 D9 cm The title, ‘Landscape’, provides the key to interpreting this vertical sculpture: strata, planes and breaks that evoke a condensed relief on a scale that fits in the hand. Guido de Zan works with stoneware as if it were a geological material, leaving the traces of its shaping and the variations in the firing process visible. The form hovers between abstraction and evocation, like a fragment of a mountain placed on a shelf. An intimate piece, in the format of a library object.
