Description
*Mario Ceroli (born 1938) Mobili Nella Valle Pair of chairs Pine Poltronova edition Date of design: 1970 Date of production: circa 1990 H192 W60 D50 cm Additional charges: reduced VAT rate 5.5% With their backs measuring nearly two metres, these chairs are as much totems as they are seats. Mario Ceroli, a leading figure on the Roman art scene of the 1960s, transposes the language of his installations onto raw pine: assembled planks, cut-out profiles, and unfinished wood. The ‘Mobili nella Valle’ series, produced by Poltronova, carries forward the spirit of radical Italian design, in which furniture becomes a manifesto and a theatre set. This pair, produced around 1990 based on a 1970 design, retains all the graphic power of the silhouette.
