Description

Charles Catteau Bunch of grapes Vase Spherical shape Yellow and black enamel on a white crackled background. Marked ‘B.F.K La Louviere Belgique Ch. Catteau’ H22 cm In perfect condition The spherical shape, one of the purest in the Keramis range, provides Charles Catteau’s design with a continuous surface upon which the bunches of grapes unfold in a frieze. The contrast between black and yellow, punctuated by the white crackled background, conveys the graphic energy of Belgian Art Deco. Under Catteau’s guidance, Boch Frères produced designs hand-executed by a team of decorators trained in the workshop, which lends each piece its own unique character.
