Description
Alvina Jakobsson (1992) Sculpture Ceramics 2023 H40 W25 D25 cm Born in 1992, Alvina Jakobsson belongs to a generation of ceramicists who have made clay sculpture one of the most vibrant fields of contemporary art. This piece from 2023, standing forty centimetres tall, asserts itself as a fully-fledged work in the round, free from any utilitarian function. Form and surface are conceived as a unified whole, with ceramics approached as a sculptural medium rather than as the art of vessel-making.
