Description
Etni-Tecni Fireplace set Steel and bronze Etni-Tecni edition 1991 H78 cm In good original condition. One figure is missing an ear and another is missing a mouth. Distributed in the 1990s by The Conran Shop and the En Attendant les Barbares gallery, Etni-Tecni’s creations belong to a period when French design was rediscovering fantasy, storytelling and the craftsmanship of the artisan. This fireplace set is a fine example of this: the utensils, extended by small bronze figures, form a miniature scene by the fireside. The utilitarian object becomes a narrative sculpture, in the style of the creations by Élizabeth Garouste and Mattia Bonetti or Migeon & Migeon, distributed by the same gallery. A piece characteristic of the Parisian ‘new baroque’.
