Description
Jimmy Dupont Corps Premier A figurative sculpture featuring a stylised body and rough-hewn features. Patinated bronze Date of creation: circa 2020 H17.5 W8 cm With *Corps Premier*, Jimmy Dupont reduces the human figure to its essential features: a stylised body, rough forms, a compact presence. The title evokes a primal form, prior to any detail, which the patinated bronze captures in a dense material. This approach is part of a long tradition of synthetic figurative sculpture, from Cycladic idols to modern explorations of the archaic body. A small-scale, freestanding work that explores the boundary between figuration and abstraction.
