Description
Michel Mars Box, in the style of Pierre Bayle’s work Terre sigillée 2011 H16 W12 cm In perfect condition With its smooth, lustrous surface, free from glaze, this box demonstrates mastery of terra sigillata, a demanding technique requiring very fine clay, meticulous polishing and controlled firing. Michel Mars develops a style here that is close to that of Pierre Bayle, characterised by enclosed forms and taut contours. The intimate, hand-held format accentuates the sensual quality of the material.
