Description
ABSID Pipe 3 Sculpture Black mahogany Limited edition Date of creation: 2020 H59 W32 D34 cm Entitled ‘Pipe’, this series explores sculpture through a tubular form – the quintessential industrial element – rendered in wood. The choice of black mahogany, a dense wood with a tight grain, gives the piece a deep, dark surface that absorbs light and accentuates the interplay of volumes. This dialogue between a form derived from plumbing and a noble material used in cabinetmaking is what makes the object so compelling.
