Description
Grond Studio Baptist Chair Lime, plaster and pigment 2023 H20 W23 D23 cm In the Baptist chair, the cast plaster incorporates fragments of marble, in the style of handcrafted terrazzo. This mixture gives the surface a speckled appearance, with the stone fragments rising to the surface as the plaster sets, ensuring that each piece has a unique finish. Grond Studio thus combines a humble material with a noble one, as part of an approach that seeks to make the most of offcuts and basic materials. A small, low seat, straddling the line between a stool, a footrest and a sculptural object.
