As its title suggests, this coffee table pays homage to Kazimir Malevich and Suprematism, which reduced painting to geometric planes floating in space. Belgian designer Koenraad Dewulf transposes this principle into toughened glass: intersecting planes, joined by an invisible bond, create a play of transparencies, reflections and cast shadows. The carefully calculated angles and clean lines produce a composition that appears to float, whilst ensuring the structure’s stability. A piece that is both a design object and an artistic reference.
