Description
Carlo Nason (born 1935)
LS189
Pair of pendant lamps
Smoked crystal
Circa 1970
H42 D50 cm
Born into a family of Murano glassmakers, Carlo Nason made light one of the central themes of his work, designing numerous light fittings in the 1960s and 1970s, notably for the Mazzega glassworks. His pendant lights combine traditional glassmaking expertise with resolutely modern forms. This LS189 model, in smoked crystal, casts a soft, subdued light, characteristic of the 1970s taste for warm, muted tones. Presented as a pair, the piece allows a table or space to be lit symmetrically.
